CHICAGO, Ill. and SALT LAKE CITY, UT (March 16, 2016) — The Private Exchange Coalition (PEC), an alliance of industry-leading private exchange technology vendors formed in 2015, announces the appointment of ConnectedHealth CEO and Co-founder John Fiacco to chairman, and Leavitt Partners Principal Ryan Howells to executive director.
“It’s an honor to be elected chairman of the PEC. I am thrilled to work alongside other PEC leaders to create a common voice that helps shape the future of the private exchange industry,” said Fiacco. “With support from the consulting team at Leavitt Partners led by Ryan, the PEC is in a favorable position to counsel policymakers, employers and individuals on the many ways in which benefits technology reduces the complexities of health insurance purchasing.”
As the PEC chairman, Fiacco will oversee the strategic direction of the Coalition, which serves as a forum for those in the industry to share best practices and increase private exchange awareness for improving employee benefit selection and administration. Fiacco will guide prioritization, insights and interactions with other PEC organizations to ensure that the Coalition operates with its members’ best interests in mind.
As the PEC executive director, Howells will report to Fiacco and manage the day-to-day activities of the Coalition, ensuring that operations are in line with the group’s strategic vision and the goals developed by PEC member organizations. Howells will also work with Fiacco to identify ways to grow the market for technology-enabled, benefit distribution platforms.
“Leavitt Partners is proud to be convening such a distinguished and collaborative group of private exchange vendors, and I am pleased to have the opportunity to serve as executive director,” announced Howells. “I am confident that under John’s direction, the PEC will continue to thrive as a trusted industry association dedicated to the development and promotion of principles that support growth of the benefits technology industry.”
The PEC promotes advocacy, ongoing community and stakeholder engagement, and regular policy and market analyses. Areas of focus include interoperability and standards, government and regulatory affairs, media, education and communications, and consumer protections.
Earlier this week, the PEC released a new publication on consumer purchasing trends in benefit exchanges, which is available to download. For more information about the PEC and its founding members, visit www.PECoalition.com or contact Ryan Howells at: email@example.com.
