In a recent article from AIS Health’s “Report on Blue Cross Blue Shield Plans,” many industry experts predict that the small-group market will likely decline over the next year. As a result, millions of Americans who receive coverage though a small employer may find that their current plans will change or end.
ConnectedHealth President Joe Donlan and Senior VP of Business Development Fred Karutz weigh in, offering specific steps carriers should take to stay ahead of this new market shift.
“The irony for 2014 is that small group will begin to look a lot more like retail, and traditional individual markets will start looking a lot more like small group,” Karutz explains. “Uninsured and defecting small group employers still want to have skin in the game.”
